Centier Hosts Seminar on Retirement Readiness, Financial Wellness, and Health Care

July 18, 2013

Businessmen and women from throughout Northwest Indiana gathered at The Radisson in Merrillville, Indiana on Tuesday, July 16th for an exclusive business seminar. Hosted by Employer Benefit Systems (EBS) and Centier Bank’s Strategic Financial Services team, the seminar was open to a select group of clients and prospects and offered an abundance of information on timely business topics.

The seminar kicked off with Doug Tillet, Vice President of Public Affairs, Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, as the guest speaker during breakfast. Tillet spoke to the audience of 50 about the history of the Federal Reserve, its purpose in today’s society, and the state of the current economy.

Will Glaros, founder of EBS, presented during the day’s first general session, walking through the details of the Health Care Reform bill and what it means for employers in Northwest Indiana. “It’s education and awareness,” Glaros said. “It is really important to us that our clients and others understand what they need to do to prepare for this bill, and this seminar was a great way for us to deliver that information to them.”

Jim Boyd, Centier Bank Vice President, and Anthony Contrucci, Centier Bank Strategic Products Consultant, presented the second general session, talking to the audience about RetireRight, a new retirement income product that provides plan participants with principle protection and guaranteed income. “RetireRight will provide retirement plan participants with a holistic solution to achieving retirement security by combining performance, protection, and income,” said Boyd. “This new fund will launch in the fourth quarter of 2013 and we felt it was time to let our clients know about this opportunity.”

The seminar covered more topics than just health care reform and retirement products, however. “Employers today need to understand the changing landscape which includes everything from health care reform and employer-sponsored retirement plans, to that of financial wellness and the economy” said Contrucci. “There have been a lot of developments, and at this seminar we brought together specialists from all of these areas who could talk to our clients and prospects about the changes that are taking place, what is on the horizon in these specific categories, and the unique challenges that they present.”

The seminar continued into the afternoon, offering several topic choices to attendees. Adam Unger, AccuTech Systems Corporation President, presented a breakout session on branding and how to keep up with the times. Dian Reyome, Centier Financial Capabilities Coordinator, moderated a breakout session on financial wellness presented by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and the FDIC. Will Glaros presented on health care reform bill specifics for large companies while his son, Matt Glaros (EBS Vice President), presented on health care reform bill specifics for small companies. And Centier offered two additional sessions – a Multiple Employer Plan session led by Jim Boyd and a session on ReallocateRight, a subscription-based education product, led by Anthony Contrucci.
